Meet Abi
Hi, I'm Abi, founder of Books In Order.
I've worked in the accounting field for over 17 years, I began my career in an accountancy practice in Hull, where I trained and developed my experience supporting a wide range of businesses with their bookkeeping and reporting. During this time, I completed both AAT and ACCA examinations, building a strong technical foundation in accounting and finance.
I later moved into industry, working primarily within food manufacturing businesses in management and financial accounting roles. Having experienced both sides, I understand not only the technical side of accounting but also the realities of running and supporting a busy organisation.
My journey into bookkeeping started with a genuine love of organisation and problem-solving. I've always enjoyed bringing order to financial information and helping people feel more in control of their numbers.
Over the years, I've seen first-hand how overwhelming bookkeeping can become for busy business owners, especially when they're trying to juggle running a business alongside everything else life throws at them.
I believe bookkeeping should be about more than keeping records up to date or meeting deadlines.
I aim to build long-term relationships with my clients and become a trusted point of contact throughout the year, not just when deadlines approach.
My approach is friendly, straightforward, and supportive, helping business owners feel organised, informed, and confident.
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying a good brew, or making the most of the beautiful East Yorkshire coastline.
